One of my favorites is chocolate cake in a cup. Yes, I said it. Cake! You can enjoy cake even if you are no carb, low carb, no sugar, no dairy…and low FODMAP! This recipe is from roastedroot.com by Julia Mueller. She rocks it for special diets. Her recipes are easy and delicious. I’m definitely a fan of hers!

Paleo Chocolate Mug Cake

Special diet modification:

For LOW FODMAP: Maple syrup is fine. It is mostly sucrose and water. A small amount of cocoa powder is also fine on a LOW FODMAP diet.

For SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth): Cut the recipe in half and substitute honey. Cocoa is not allowed on the SIBO diet. Let me know if you substitute the cocoa powder with something else. I’m going to experiment with this myself. I’m thinking maca powder!

And for everyone, add a bit of coconut cream on the top. It’s the best!
